I have a three year old male deg nd i got him a stone chew block to help keep his teeth at a healthy length he's had it for about 2 and a half 3 months and the pet store said it may take him a couple of weeks to use it well he still HAS NOT used it the only thing he does is throw it around his cage i've noticed his teeth are getting a little longer then i would like but i dont know what else to give him to help file them down if anyone knows wht to give him or can give me any ideas on how to get him to use the chew block he already has that would be great....thank you Amber

hi, have you tried giving him baked apple wood or willow sticks? mine seem to love them.

i gave him the apple wood all he did was pull it around his cage i havent tried the willow sticks. ill have to try that thanks

Hello meobo09,

My degus have never used any mineral stones or blocks i have bought them, but go mad over willow sticks and after a short time all that is left is pile of wood on the floor!

Best place i have found to get them is Wilkos (while your in there try the dandelion and green oat mix, mine love it) or you can get them for a bit more at Pets at Home.
